The White Noise
I have many ideas running through my busy head. Sometimes it's very hard to make it quiet. Sometimes to appease my brain, I put my ideas into action, and I build on them until I see where it won't work, or realize that maybe it's not the right time to launch. Many times my ideas fall flat on its face. But sometimes, it is particularly nice to see some of my thoughts and ideas become successful.
I am pretty sure I am not the only one who has an overactive mind and I wonder what people use to quiet their own minds. Perhaps its sports, reading, cooking, being bombarded by a bunch of puppies, or listening to recorded meditations, to name a few. Sometimes, I'm sure, it's a good glass of wine!
Massage therapy really puts my brain into a meditative hum. I love helping people with relieving their tissue issues. I find myself closing my eyes and suddenly there is a quiet calm. Almost immediately, all my worries, anxieties and thoughts disappear. My focus is now the client and my hands zone in on what needs to be done. It's really amazing how easy it is to put myself into this state now after being a massage therapist for many years.
I think many good massage therapists must feel this peacefulness when working on their clients, although I have never asked.
